Dear PrepScholar,
I've got a 590 on Math and 580 on Reading + Writing without studying. I sat the exam without knowing the exam structure at all. What's the highest score improvement I can achieve with my raw ability?

It really depends on how much time you have between now and your next test date and how committed you are to studying. Two people who get the same score on the SAT without studying could have different capacities for improvement depending on what they're willing to put into the process. I'd suggest calculating your target score and then reading this article on how long you should study for the SAT to see how much time you need to spend studying to improve the desired amount. You'll probably be able to improve by 200+ points if you work hard at getting more familiar with the test and identifying and fixing your mistakes.
