Would it be a good idea for me to switch to the ACT if I'm having trouble with the SAT? I can't seem to get my score above a 1900 even though I'm one of the top students in my class. I think my issue with the SAT is that the questions are asked in indirect ways, and I can't figure out exactly what I need to know to do well.

The ACT asks questions in a more straightforward way, so it might be a better fit for you than the SAT. It's less about manipulating your knowledge to fit odd questions and more about directly demonstrating your mastery of certain concepts.
Before you commit to the ACT, try taking a practice test to see if you score higher than you did on the SAT. If you end up with a composite score of 30 or more, you'll know that the ACT is the right choice for you.
