I'm frustrated with the fact that many colleges don't consider the SAT Writing section. I got my best section score on Writing, and I'm disappointed that some schools won't see it. What's the deal with this?
The Writing section is the newest section of the test, and it has limited predictive value compared to the other sections. Critical Reading and Math have been around for a long time, so colleges place more trust in these section scores as indications of potential. The 25 minute essay isn't a great way to assess writing ability as a whole. Colleges can rely on your high school grades and college essay to determine your writing ability more reliably.
